It’s Never Too Late to Choose Yourself: How Writing Became My Freedom

In life, we don’t expect the unexpected — but it happens anyway.

We grow up with dreams of becoming someone, of chasing happiness, of finding a path that feels right. But too often, those dreams fade. Reality creeps in. Doubts settle inside us. And slowly, without even noticing, we start living for everyone else.

We do things because we think they’ll make others proud.
We shape ourselves to fit expectations, even if it suffocates who we really are.
We try to make others happy — but sometimes, in doing so, we lose ourselves.

That’s exactly what happened to me.

I tried to be the good lad.
I tried to keep everyone happy, to follow the path others laid out for me.
But the more I did that, the more distant my own goals became. I realised I was building a life for everyone else… while my own dreams collected dust in the corner.

There came a moment — and I believe everyone reaches it at some point — where I had to make a choice.

Live the way people want me to live…
Or live the way I was born to live.

When I started creating my stories, everything changed. Writing isn’t just a hobby for me. It’s not a distraction. It’s the moment I feel free. It's when I finally feel like me — not someone else’s version of who I should be.

Through my books, through the Twisted Desire series, I let my mind go to places it was once too scared to explore. I embrace the raw, the dark, the emotional, and the unexpected. I tell stories that come from deep inside my soul. Stories that I used to hide.

But I hide no more.

This isn’t just about writing books. It’s about mental health.
It’s about giving yourself permission to live truthfully, even if that means stepping away from what others expect of you. It’s about accepting that it’s okay to outgrow people’s opinions, and it’s okay to outgrow the version of yourself that no longer fits.

It’s okay to start late.
It’s okay to change your path.
It’s okay to choose you.

If you’ve ever felt trapped by expectations, if you’ve ever felt like your dreams were slipping away while you lived for everyone else — I want you to know: you’re not alone.

I’ve been there.
And I’m still walking this path.
But every day I write, every story I create, I feel a little more free.

Let this be your reminder to do what makes you feel alive. To do what makes you feel like you. Don’t wait for permission.

Because once you start living for yourself, you start truly living.
